About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic and rapidly growing Finance team. As part of a team that is currently small but expanding, this fully remote role offers significant opportunities for learning, development, and career growth. You will be responsible for managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, handling chargebacks, performing basic payroll tasks, performing financial reconciliations as part of the month-end close process, and various other accounting-related duties. The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance, holds a relevant degree, and is equipped to thrive in a remote work environment.  

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR): Process invoices, manage payment cycles, and ensure timely collection of receivables.
  • Chargebacks: Track and monitor trends in chargeback activity to ensure thresholds are not surpassed and resolutions are found. Investigate and resolve chargeback claims, as necessary.
  • Payroll: Assist with basic payroll processing, including data entry, verification, and compliance with company policies.
  • Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • General Ledger: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by recording transactions, adjusting entries, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports as needed.
  • Compliance: Ensure all financial activities adhere to internal controls, policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Support & Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team to provide support on various projects and tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a must.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks, Sage Intaact, or Netsuite preferred) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solution-oriented and strong problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Remote Work Skills: Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to manage time effectively in a remote setting. Ability to stay connected and engaged with the team through virtual communication tools. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Expected Base Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 USD Annually
